Taiwan Insurance Institute Signed MOU with The Insurance Association of Vietnam in Hanoi on June 7, 2017
Taiwan Insurance Institute (TII) and The Insurance Association of Vietnam (IAV) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on June 7, 2017 in Hanoi by the Chairman of each institution, Mr. Hsien-Nung Kuei of the TII and Mr. Phan Kim Bang of the IAV. The MOU is signed in an attempt to facilitate bilateral cooperation and the exchange of information and the signing ceremony was held in IAV office with the participation of the Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam and delegation of the insurance industries in both markets. In the future, the mutual cooperation between TII and IAV will mainly focus on sharing of expertise on insurance education and training, hosting of various events, including seminars and conferences, exchanging of up-to-date information on the industry and research findings, as well as other related items further agreed by both Institutes.
TII was founded in 1985 for the purpose of enhancing the sound development of insurance industry as well as the mutual benefits of the insurers, insured and the general public. TII’s major responsibility includes conducting professional insurance research, cultivating insurance talents and experts, studying actuarial and statistics, reviewing insurance products, analyzing international insurance data and information, propagating risk management and insurance knowledge, and acting as a think tank for people in Taiwan. Moreover, TII is expecting to develop itself as a regional insurance education and training center by involving in comprehensive international interactions.
IAV is a voluntary social-occupational organization of Vietnamese insurance enterprises. The aim of the Association is to represent and protect the lawful rights and interests of its members and to promote co-operation between themselves in order to improve the quality of services, products and competitive capacity for the development of the Vietnam insurance market in accordance with law and regulations in Vietnam. IAV’s main responsibility includes making suggestions on formulating the strategy of development of the Vietnamese insurance industry, promoting public insurance awareness, establishing the Information Center of the Association, setting up training centers, cooperating with other Associations in foreign countries and so on.
Through signing the MOU, TII expects to reinforce interactions with the insurance related institutes in Asia, to introduce international new knowledge, to enhance the competitiveness of the domestic insurance industry, to assist on innovation and advancement for the domestic insurance industry, as well as to strive together for the prospect to be in line with international markets in the near future.
